I remember growing up and getting my very first house key. I was so proud to be thought responsible enough and took that responsibility very seriously. I would always check to make sure my key was where it should be and didn’t fall into the hands of the ‘bad guys.’
Then I grew up and the number of keys I became responsible for grew as well. Bicycle lock keys, school locker keys, car keys, apartment keys and, eventually, motorcycle keys. Somewhere, in the drawer that we all have, is a zip-lock baggie with all those random keys that we just can’t throw out but have no idea what they open or unlock.
